I’ve been away from my blog for quite a while. I expected that while I wasn’t paying attention to it, that no one would, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that my views have still been growing, slowly but surely. In fact, my blog has had almost 1000 views! I’ve been inhabiting this small space on the internet for a whole year now, on and off, and it really blows my mind that so many people have been able to see my recipes and ramblings. I know that 1000 doesn’t sound like that many, but it’s an audience, my audience, no matter how small. It’s pretty hard to grow a blog, I think because the love for blogs is not what it used to be. I already tried the YouTube route, and as much as I love to create those videos (my attempts from grade nine can be found online if you are inclined to look), writing and photographing my recipes brings me more joy. I’ve said it before, but I really want to dedicate more of my time to this blog, because it really is a passion of mine. Hopefully, I’ll be able to carve out space in my day, and really try to do more. It’s relaxing, and it gives me time to chill and just let my fingers travel across the keyboard and create something. Obviously, a lot of my content is about food and making new and delicious things, and it’s very difficult to maintain this content while I’m in res. For now, I need to branch out a bit and subject you all to more practical posts, until I can have constant access to a kitchen (and the constant happiness that it will hopefully bring!). But I have been wanting to expand my content into the wider “lifestyle” category, and I should have been doing that the whole year. I have some things planned for the second half of the year, like organisation tips and a reflection on my time at university so far. It’s really important to me to be able to maintain my blog (it does cost me money after all) and have my own little place that I can share whatever I want to.
